We have a rule in our school district, if a child becomes ill and throws-up, the parents must be informed and the child must go home.
On this particular day a Kindergartner has been escorted into the clinic by the Teaching Assistant, with a trash can under his chin . It's a dead giveaway what his malady is. The substitute nurse takes his name and has one of the office staff call the parents and the child waits on a cot for his backpack to be delivered and his parents to come for him.
In the time it takes for Dad to arrive, the little boy begins to feel better. Much better, and he would like to return to the classroom. This is unheard of at a school. A child that actually wants to go back to class! He is a Kindergartner after all and clearly must enjoy his time at school. The nurse explains why he can't return to the classroom, "When you are sick, you could get other children sick with your germs."
While he waits, the little boy occupies himself with a book. When Dad enters the office and the little boy hears his voice he becomes quiet upset. He adamantly states "I don't want to go home! I want to go back to class!" Dad calmly walks into the clinic and says, "come on Buddy, let's get you home." But the little boy becomes upset and again declares "I DON'T wanna go home!!!" "But you have to Son, you are sick, you don't want anyone else to get sick."
"NOOOOOOO, I have to go back to class!"
"Son, you threw-up, it's against the school rules for you to stay, you can come back in a day or two."
At this the dad scoops the boy up into his arms and starts to walk out of the office carrying both the squirming boy and his backpack, the boy tearfully wailing all the way. All the while the child is trying to escape to return to the classroom. As they leave the foyer of the school the weeping b0y states "you're the wuurst dad evah!"
